Apply for 33% off Business Rates

Independent retailers are invited to apply for a third off their business rates bill for 2019/20 and 2020/21, as part of the Council’s Pink Envelope campaign.

Nearly 1,000 pink envelopes have been sent out containing a letter urging eligible shops, restaurants, cafes and other high street businesses to apply for a share of a new funding pot made available by the Government to help rejuvenate local high streets.

200 new EV chargepoints

Do you own an electric vehicle or thinking about buying one?

You will be able to charge up at one of over 200 lamp column charge points around the borough with installation of new ubitricity charge points underway and due to be completed by Sunday 31 March.

Young talented musicians take to stage in Twickenham

Thirteen young acts took to the stage last Friday night, 15 February, for the Heatham House Talent showcase.

The event was organised by Achieving for Children and saw young people aged 11 to 19 years performed an eclectic selection of music from afro-beat and rap to rock, soul and RnB.

We donate seized goods to charity

Counterfeit clothes, shoes and toys seized by Merton Council and Richmond Council have been donated to the charity Sports Traider.

Items including rugby scarvess, boots, trainers, jewellery and toys will be rebranded by Sports Traider, which gives disadvantaged young people access to sports equipment.

Have your say about RFU match and event days

The RFU have produced a survey to gather the opinions of residents about event days at Twickenham stadium. They would like to get views about how events are managed, and what particular areas of concern they should consider when planning these events.

They would like to understand the wider community views about how the stadium impacts the local area, both positively and negatively, as they plan for the future.

Outdoor pool now open

Pools on the Park have re-opened the outdoor pool on weekends from 8am to 4pm. The pool will remain closed on weekdays until 14 April.

Richmond Libraries are celebrating Be Online week between Monday 18 and Friday 23 February. Develop your online skills and spend an hour with our Libraries team to explore the online world using your PC, tablet or smartphone!

Work Club at Twickenham Library

The Work Club can help you with any activity related to job searching and is available to all.

Each session is run by experienced, supportive volunteers at Twickenham Library every Tuesday from 9.30 to 11.30am, and no booking is required.

Step-free entrance at St Margarets Station

A new step-free access gate will be installed at St Margarets station to make travelling easier for people with mobility issues. The scheme is being jointly funded by South Western Railway (SWR) and the London Borough of Richmond.

New Theatrical Workshop in Twickenham

Dramatize Twickenham are offering a series of new dance and creative movement classes for individuals aged 16+ with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Local volunteers receive funding to bring the wild back to East Sheen

The Conservation Volunteers have received funding from Richmond Parish Lands charity to improve the pond on the common, replace the small bridge, make improvements to the hazel coppice area and create a new amphibian friendly environment.

RichDance is returning for its seventeenth year on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March.

Create a blooming marvellous poster!

The annual Richmond in Bloom floral art competition is now open to all children attending school or pre-school in the borough. Organisers are looking for a painting which is colourful, artistic, eye-catching and also shows an observation of natural blooms.

The top 15 entries will go on public display at events in the borough, each receiving a certificate and a bumper pack of art materials. 

The deadline for submissions from schools is Thursday 4 April, or Monday 15 April for personal entries.

Richmond Irish Charity Dinner

The Richmond Irish Network's annual charity St. Patrick’s Dinner and Dance takes place on Friday 15 March at London Welsh Rugby Club. This year, all money raised on the night will be donated to The Vineyard Community Centre in Richmond to support the local homeless community.

Tickets are £75 per person and include a three course meal, half bottle of wine and live entertainment. A live auction will also take place on the night. To reserve your tickets, please RSVP to

Gold medals for catering students at Salon Culinaire

Congratulations to four of Richmond upon Thames College’s (RuTC) catering students who participated last January  in the annual chef competition Salon Culinaire in Birmingham, winning two times gold as well as one bronze medal and one merit.
