Notice of upcoming work at Twickenham Station

This weekend, Solum will be carrying out works at Twickenham Station from 10pm Saturday 7 December to 6am Monday 9 December 2019.

This includes the installation of remaining cladding to the main balcony, a new platform canopy roof cladding as well as works to the River Crane Embankment and track landscape.

Christmas lunch at Twickenham Wellbeing Centre for over 50's

Age UK Richmond are inviting residents to a festive afternoon on Thursday 19 December at the Twickenham Wellbeing Centre. Enjoy a delicious three course Christmas lunch and live entertainment for £20 per person.

New Year in Old Vienna

Council slams Twickenham park vandals

On Sunday 1 December, a group of vandals attacked Diamond Jubilee Gardens, setting the Twickenham Riverside Trust’s eco-Christmas tree on fire, along with equipment in the play area. The play area was hit again on 2 December with further damage.

We are working with the police to identify those responsible, and seeking to install CCTV in the area. The play equipment will be replaced and the Council has offered to fund a new Christmas tree.

Not only will you receive practical tips from a variety of industry guests throughout the four day course but you will be supported by the Richmond Theatre Creative Learning team to capture and edit contemporary footage using state-of-the-art Vitec equipment. You will even be given Vitec equipment to take away with you so that your high-quality film making can continue beyond the course.

East Sheen Primary School winners of the girl’s school football tournament

East Sheen Primary School triumphed at the annual girl’s primary school football tournament held in Teddington earlier this month.

As winners of the Cup, they will now go on to represent Richmond upon Thames in the London School Games competition in March 2020.

Help us keep everyone safe this festive season

We are supporting Counter Terrorism Police’s campaign to help keep crowded places safe over the festive period.

Officers are calling on the public and those who work in our busy towns and cities to remain vigilant and report any concerns to staff, security or - in confidence - to the police using their report online form.

This annual campaign asks everyone to be the extra eyes and ears of the police, so we can work together to tackle terrorism.

Cycleway 9: work starts at Kew Bridge junction

Transport for London are planning to start building Cycleway 9 at the Kew Bridge junction.

Enabling works: from Thursday 12 to  Thursday 19 December, working off-peak during the day (10am to 3pm) and overnight (8pm to 5am).

Main works phase: from Sunday 22 December to late Autumn 2020.

Richmond upon Thames is London's happiest place to live

For the fifth year in a row, Richmond upon Thames has been voted the happiest place to live in London.

The annual Rightmove study polls 22,000 homeowners across the UK in 194 location, with a London index and a national list. The survey measures how people feel about 12 factors, including a sense of belonging, cultural scene and green space.

Richmond youngsters race home in cross-country

This month, Team Richmond raced to third place in the London Youth Games cross-country competition.

Over sixty young people from the borough, aged from under 10 years through to 17 years, made up 23 schools from across the borough took part in the London Cross-Country championship.

Richmond Mental Health Mates are monthly peer support groups offering a safe place to talk, walk, laugh, share stories and make new connections without fear of judgement.

The Mayor of Richmond upon Thames will light up Hampton Square on Friday 6 December by switching on its Christmas lights.

The annual Christmas in the Square event will take place between 3.30 and 5.30pm with mulled wine, music from local artists and craft activities for the kids.
