Christmas tree recycling – free and easy

When it’s time to say goodbye to your Christmas tree, we offer a simple and free way to recycle it responsibly.

Real Christmas trees will be collected for recycling on your usual garden waste day between 5 to 16 January. You can check your collection day.

We will not collect your tree if it is:

  • Plastic or not real
  • Still decorated
  • In soil, or with excessive soil attached
  • In a pot or stand
  • Over 6ft - please cut it into smaller pieces

Drop-off points

Alternatively, you can take your tree to a drop-off point between Friday 26 December 2025 and Saturday 31 January 2026.

Remove any decorations or pots first.
