Planning system delays

Our recently upgraded web-based planning system has been experiencing an unidentified fault since Wednesday 11 June 2025. Whilst we investigate and resolve this issue, some services are experiencing severe delays.

Planning applications and decisions

Validation and decisions on planning applications may be delayed. Details of valid applications are still visible through the My Richmond app and planning search.

Planning applications can still be submitted through the Planning Portal, but processing has been delayed during this period. 

You are still able to make comments on planning applications, however your comment may not be visible online for up to a week. 

Planning enforcement

There may be a slight delay in our usual service owing to the technical issues. You can continue to use our online form to report a breach of planning control.

Building Control

There is a delay in processing Building Control applications. You can still request site visits, and these will be processed as normal.

Trees

You can still search for, view, or comment on an application for tree works subject to tree preservation order or Section 211 notices for trees in conservation areas. Applications can be submitted through the Planning Portal, but there are currently delays.
