Supporting young people with asthma to stay safe and well
Community news on behalf of NHS | 4 September 2025
Running from 8 to 12 September, the NHS #AskAboutAsthma campaign will be raising awareness about asthma in children and young people and how air pollution can trigger attacks.
This year’s campaign theme One year on from the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) report: How can we prevent asthma deaths? focuses on showcasing great practices and identifying further actions to keep children well, and how systems are responding to the NCMD’s findings and recommendations.
There are four simple measures families and those involved in young people’s care can take to help them control their asthma:
- Get an asthma action plan in place
- Understand how to use inhalers correctly
- Schedule an asthma review – every year, and after every attack
- Consider air pollution and lung health
Throughout the week, there is a schedule of webinars and conferences about different topics, register for your free space.
