Pick up a bag and join the Great British Spring Clean
11 March 2026
From running your own spring clean to joining our monthly Litter Challenges, there are various ways to connect with others and help keep our borough clean.
This year, we’ve again signed up to support Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean, the nation’s biggest mass action environmental campaign.
This year’s campaign runs from 13 to 29 March, and we’re encouraging everyone in the borough to get involved by organising their own litter picks during this period. Whether you’re planning a quick tidy on your street, getting neighbours together for a group clean up, or organising something bigger, every bag collected makes a difference. Your actions help create a cleaner environment so that everyone can love where they live.
If you are planning a litter picking event in the borough and would like our help, please email martin.lewis@richmond.gov.uk to see how we can support your event.
The Litter Challenge
If you prefer to join a guided clean-up, from March to August, we’re partnering with Richmond Borough Mind, Friendly Parks for All and Dementia Friends to run a series of monthly litter picks at Kneller Gardens.
These inclusive sessions help to bring people together, support wellbeing and make our parks and open spaces cleaner and more welcoming for everyone. Find out more about the Litter Challenge.
