Special offer: 100 weddings to celebrate 100 years of York House

2026 marks the centenary of York House as a public building and to celebrate Richmond Council is offering 100 couples the opportunity to be part of this historic milestone.

From July to September 2026, selected dates will be available for wedding ceremonies in two of York House’s most beautiful rooms – the Salon and the Winter Garden – at a special discounted rate.

The stately surroundings of seventeenth-century York House include elegant interiors and gardens that sweep down to the River Thames, providing a memorable backdrop for ceremonies and wedding photographs.

The Salon is an ornate room overlooking the driveway at the front of the house, while the Winter Garden, located at the rear of the building, features a striking original glass-dome roof and views across the gardens.

This limited-time offer celebrates York House’s role at the heart of civic life for a century, inviting couples to become part of its story by marrying there during the centenary year.

The ceremonies have been designed to be simple and stress-free, making them an attractive option for couples looking for a straightforward ceremony in a historic and meaningful location, while also being part of a once-in-a-generation celebration.

The 100 couples will also receive a discount of up to 40% on their wedding ceremony, which includes the use of the room for one hour and the registrar’s fee.

Councillor Jim Millard, Deputy Leader of Richmond Council and Lead Member for Finance and Resources, said: “York House has been at the heart of life in Richmond upon Thames for 100 years, from civic occasions to personal milestones. This centenary is a chance to celebrate that history in a very special way, by welcoming 100 couples to begin their married lives here as part of that legacy.”

Only 100 ceremonies will be available in total, with bookings offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
