Celebrate pride and love across the borough

1 June 2026

This June, Pride Month is lighting up Richmond upon Thames with nature adventures, creative workshops, community meetups and book displays celebrating LGBTQ+ voices.

Explore LGBTQ+ community through books and history

Our libraries are marking Pride Month with vibrant book displays that celebrate identity and inclusivity. Come along to browse a curated mix of fiction, non fiction, memoirs, poetry and young adult titles, each chosen to spotlight LGBTQ+ voices and lived experiences.

You can also explore them online:

If you'd like to explore queer history beyond the page, Gateway to Heaven: Fifty Years of LGBTQ+ History with Dr Clare Summerskill offers an engaging look at the personal stories that shaped modern LGBTQ+ life in the UK. Find out more.

Pride in the open air

The Wetland Centre’s Queer Ecology events explore the natural world through a queer lens.

The cyanotype printing workshop offers participants a chance to create botanical blueprints inspired by themes of identity and diversity, while the guided Queer Ecology Walk uncovers the surprising, fluid lifecycles found in nature.

Monthly Rainbow Café

Age UK Richmond’s Rainbow Café offers a welcoming, relaxed space for LGBTQ+ people in the borough to connect, chat and feel part of a supportive community.

The group meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 11.30am at the Eel Pie Pub in Twickenham (TW1 3NJ), making it a regular, easy going way to socialise and build connections with others in later life. Find out more.
