Subject: Subsidiaries and Related Parties

Can you complete the attached spreadsheet where worksheet 1 ('Subsidiaries') asks for information on companies that the Council controls - usually as a result of being the only member or majority shareholder. And worksheet 2 ('OtherRelatedParties') asks for information on any other company that the Council is connected to as defined by financial reporting standards. The questions asked are identical on both worksheets:

1. The names of the companies

2. The company numbers

3. The main business of the companies

4. Information on who the directors are

5. The main contact email address for the companies

6. The main contact telephone number for the companies

7. The amount of payments the Council expect to make to the companies in the 2022/23 financial year

Associates, Joint Ventures and Subsidiaries are detailed (consolidated) in the Council's Statement of Accounts, specifically in the 'Group Relationships' note which refers to Achieving for Children (AFC) and Orleans House Trust. All prior year Statement of Accounts can be found here Budgets and spending - London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. In the case of AfC being the Council's community interest company - details can be found on AfC's website and their own Statement of Accounts published (Achieving for Children :: Home).

The Council's related parties are also detailed in the Council's Statement of Accounts within the 'Related Parties' note. The Accounts detail the material related parties and how the Council is connected to those companies or organisations (i.e. board members, etc) and what expenditure and income occurred in year. The Council does not hold telephone numbers, contact details or companies house numbers for all related parties.

The Council has not published its Statement of Accounts for 2022/23 as yet, therefore no information can be given on estimated payments to or from related parties, associates, joint ventures or subsidiaries. The Council will publish its 2022/23 Accounts on or before the 30th June 2023.
