Please can you tell me the number of public bins the council has provided in your area for the past five years (1 January 2018 - 19 January 2023). Please could this be broken down by month, the type of bin, the location (eg park or street).

Please can you tell me the number of public bins the council has provided in your area for the past five years (1 January 2018 - 19 January 2023). Please could this be broken down by month, the type of bin, the location (eg park or street).

Highways: We operate approximately 768 street litter bins across the Borough. This number will have remained relatively consistent through the requested period but we cannot provide exact data as we do not hold these records. We are committed to maintaining our existing asset level.

Parks have approximately 1100 bins throughout 130 parks and towpaths.

Please can you tell me the number of public bins removed from your area over the past five years (1 January 2018 - 19 January 2023). Please could this be broken down by month, the type of bin, the location (eg park or street) and the reason for removal.

Highways: We do not hold an exact figure but the 768 on-street litter bins figure provided above will be fairly consistent and the number will only have fluctuated by 1-2%. Generally bins will only be removed for two reasons, misuse and / or repeat vandalism.

Parks do not retain figure of removed bins as they are replaced with new bins rather than permanently removed. We have increased bin stock by approximately 100 in last 3 years.

Please can you tell the savings made from the removal of the bins, broken down annually from 1 January 2018-19 January 2023.

Highways: Litter bin emptying is set in the Street Cleansing contract price, so there would be no quantifiable savings.
