Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire as it is insufficiently earthed and poorly constructed, and does not include a fuse. Under fault conditions, this could cause the charger to overheat and ignite. The product was also supplied with a 'clover-leaf' style plug which does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard. The user can access live pins when plugging in, or unplugging, the plug from the socket and receive an electric shock.

The product also requires improvements to marking, labelling and documentation.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.

Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
