Made in Fulham - Football coaching programme

Made in Fulham is a free 13-week programme from Fulham FC Foundation, designed for people aged 16+ who are interested in becoming a football coach. Previous coaching experience or coaching qualifications are not required.

Participants will experience a number of opportunities that will be fundamental in supporting their coaching journey.

These include:

  • Football coaching qualifications
  • Coach education sessions
  • Employability workshops
  • 1-1 mentoring
  • Work experience at Fulham FC Foundation

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust - Coach education programmes

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust offers a range of opportunities for young people to build skills, gain knowledge, and grow in confidence. These programmes help them recognise their potential while developing essential life skills.

Active Leaders

Active Leaders is a CIMSPA-accredited qualification for young women aged 14 to 18. It helps participants develop leadership skills in a supportive environment through workshops on:

  • Coaching and session planning
  • Safeguarding
  • First aid
  • Risk management

Jumpstart is a targeted career pathway programme for 16 to 24-year-olds. It provides insight into specific fields and job opportunities, including:

  • CV development and interview skills
  • Hear from industry professionals
  • Network opportunities to build confidence and help young people get into a specific career field

5 - Day Jumpstart

The 5-Day Jumpstart programme is an intensive leadership course for 18 to 24-year-olds, specifically supporting NEET young people, women and girls, and participants from ethnic minority backgrounds. It focuses on:

  • Public speaking
  • Crisis management
  • General job skills

The Harlequins Foundation - Volunteering opportunities

Whether it’s helping to sell raffle tickets on matchdays, supporting an event, or mentoring a young person, the Harlequins Foundation is looking for volunteers to help maximise their impact in the community.

They have a range of roles and time commitments to suit various levels of volunteer availability, interests, and skills.

Coaching grants and bursaries

A number of governing bodies offer grants and bursaries to help increase the number of female coaches in sports such as tennis, football and cricket.

LTA inclusion grants

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) offers inclusion grants and discounted coaching courses to make tennis more accessible and inclusive. Their aim is to increase the number of female coaches and create welcoming environments for women and girls. Support may include funding towards coaching qualifications and free taster sessions.

Surrey Cricket Foundation bursaries

Surrey Cricket Foundation provides bursaries to help aspiring cricket coaches take ECB coaching courses. These bursaries aim to increase diversity in coaching, with priority given to women, people from ethnically diverse communities, those with disabilities, and individuals experiencing financial hardship.

Kick It Out coaching bursaries

Kick It Out offers bursaries to cover the cost of FA Introduction to Coaching or UEFA C courses in football. The scheme supports women, people from ethnically diverse communities, and those with disabilities, helping to remove financial barriers and create a more inclusive coaching workforce.
