Before you start

Make sure you have read our guidance on holding a street party.

We want to ensure that people are happy with this event, so if there are any objections you should let us know. We may be able to help you resolve objections.

If you are planning a road closure you will also need to consult businesses in the wider area that may be affected.

Car Free Day

To help residents celebrate Car Free Day, we will waive the administration fee for street party road closures on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September. You must still apply to us.

The waiving of street party fees applies to residents of residential streets only. The waiving of fees does not apply to traders seeking to close high streets.

Residents will need to plan in plenty of time, applications will close on 31 July 2022 for anyone wishing to hold a street party on 24 and 25 September 2022. You should allow between four and six weeks for any street party to be approved.
