The Council will make awards available from the COVID-19 Hardship Fund, which does not count as public funds, to Richmond residents whose income has been affected by COVID-19 and have no recourse to public funds.

The purpose of this scheme is to assist people during the COVID-19 emergency and the terms and duration of the scheme will be regularly reviewed.

Eligibility

You are eligible for support if:

  • You live in the Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
  • Due to COVID-19 your normal source of income has been disrupted.
  • You have no recourse / entitlement to benefits such as Universal Credit to provide you with income.
  • You are part of a couple and your partner has recourse to public funds, their financial situation will be considered before deciding upon an award.

Application process

Applications to the fund must be made through a Council recognised organisation with the authority to validate the applicant’s residency, status and the declaration of hardship.
