Many local charities and organisations across the borough are going above and beyond to help during the current coronavirus pandemic. We believe these organisations deserve to be celebrated and supported. #RichmondGivesBack helped awareness of the amazing work that was happening and continues to happen. It encourage residents to ‘give back’ and support these organisations where possible.

#LoveThroughTheLetterbox

Care home residents received over 450 love-filled letters from children across the borough in July 2020. The letters were a way of telling older residents in the borough that we are thinking of them and provided a source of entertainment. In December the campaign relaunched asking for Christmas cards and nearly 1,000 children helped spread festive joy to the care homes in our borough!

Out of this world advice from UK’s first astronaut for children across the borough

Helen Sharman, who lives in Richmond, has offered her advice and experience to children and young people across the borough, on how to deal with isolation and being away from friends and family.

Sweet dreams for younger residents with virtual bedtime stories series

With children and extended families across the borough not being able to meet up during lock down, Richmond Council launched a series of virtual bedtime stories – with the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, Councillor Nancy Baldwin and volunteers from Richmond Talking Newspaper (RTN) playing the starring role.
