Pontoon at Richmond Riverside planning inquiry

A public inquiry is being held by the Planning Inspectorate into the changes made to, and the use of, the pontoon known as Richmond Bridge Pier, adjacent to Richmond Bridge.

Inquiry background

Turk Launches Ltd has appealed against an enforcement notice issued in respect of the unauthorised alterations to the pontoon and the use of it as a restaurant. 

Date and time

The inquiry will start at 10am on Tuesday 13 January, and will be held in person from 13 to 15 January 2026 in the Council Chamber in York House, Twickenham.

Online session

There will be an online session at 10am on Tuesday 3 February 2026 to hear closing submissions from both parties.
