Ukuleles in libraries

You can now borrow a ukulele with your library card at our libraries, thanks to our partnership with London Ukulele Project.

Borrowing a ukulele

In order to borrow a ukulele, simply ask at the counter for an available instrument and a member of staff will issue it to your library card or reserve a ukulele online (just like a book).

You will be able to borrow the ukulele for three weeks, but you can also renew it if you would like to borrow it for a little longer. Fines for late returns are the same as for books.

Each ukulele kit contains:

  • A London Ukulele Project booklet for you to keep
  • A carrying case
  • Online access to learning resources

Types of ukulele

We have five types of ukuleles to loan:

  • Luna Concert x 2
  • Ashbury Concert
  • Redwood Soprano
  • Winzz Soprano
  • Octopus Soprano

London Ukulele Project

The London Ukulele Project works with libraries to give more people access to music so that they can connect with their community.

The Ukulele Project's YouTube channel incudes challenges and sing along videos for you to play along to or share with your ukulele groups.
