Winter Warmers are back for 2026! These sessions are funded by our Community Spaces.
Yoga for everyone
See the library from an exciting new angle in 2026 with a free taster yoga class. With a focus on deep breathing, mindfulness and slow stretches, these restorative sessions are suitable for all abilities. Starting and ending with meditation, they are sure to leave you feeling zen.
Yoga mats, blocks and straps are all provided but please wear comfortable clothing.
Classes will be held at Whittaker Ellis Suite, Old Town Hall, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond TW9 1TP, and run from January to March 2026:
- First Monday of the month - 1.30 to 2.30pm
- First Wednesday of the month - 5.30 to 6.45pm
- Third Monday of the month - 1.30 to 2.30pm
- Third Wednesday of the month - 5.30 to 6.45pm

Join us for a practical session on spotting misinformation.
In the session we will cover:
- Why inaccurate health information is dangerous
- Where false claims come from
- How to verify facts Discover warning signs and easy-to-use fact-checking tools to make informed decisions and protect your health

Bottle lamp making
Transform an ordinary glass bottle into a stunning decorative lamp at this free creative upcycling workshop.
Discover how simple techniques can turn everyday bottles and jars into unique illuminated decorations. Choose from a range of designs to create your own bespoke lamp to take home.
Whether you are new to crafting or just want a relaxing morning, all are welcome. Guidance and all materials are provided. Suitable for anyone aged 16 and above.

This Safer Internet Day, our friendly professional librarians will be on hand to help you navigate the digital world. You will learn a variety of tips, checks, and practical skills that will help you explore and use the internet with confidence.

Meet owls at your local library
A parliament of British owls will visit our libraries for a very special educational session this half term. Get the chance to meet barn owls, little owls, tawny owls and more in person, and hear about how they hunt, eat, and survive in the wild.
This free session is for children, accompanied by an adult.
