Become a Trading Standards volunteer
We are currently recruiting undercover volunteers to assist with underage sales test purchases.
Who can apply
We are looking for 15-17 year olds. You'll need to be confident, enthusiastic and able to follow direction, whilst working within legal guidelines.
What you'll need to do
Volunteers will be tasked with attempting to purchase age-restricted items, including alcohol, vapes, tobacco and knives.
The operations will take place outside of school hours - so unfortunately there is no skiving!
Training and supervision
Volunteers will be supervised by officers who have been DBS checked and training will be provided.
You won't be asked to visit any premises or areas where you are likely to be known, such as near home or school.
Benefits
Volunteering can contribute towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards, college and university applications, as well as CV enhancement.
