Dementia Action Week

Dementia Action Week takes place from 18 to 24 May 2026.

Age UK Richmond, the Alzheimer’s Society and other partners are hosting a week of free events, sharing expert advice and organising community activities. 

Dementia-friendly walk with Ham House

Ham House are running their first dementia friendly walk of the year on Tuesday 19 May at 10.30am.

These walks will take place monthly. Email sally.connellan@nationaltrust.org.uk for more information and details on how to join.  

Pop-up dementia information day at Patch

On Thursday 21 May, Age UK Richmond is hosting a pop-up dementia information day at Patch in Twickenham.

  • Pop in for tea, cake and a chat with local healthcare professionals including Public Health, Dementia Friendly Richmond, Alzheimer’s Society, NHS Community Dementia Practitioners and a Delirium Nurse
  • Learn about the condition and how best to support someone with dementia
  • Hear about the work of Dementia Friendly Communities Richmond
  • Tell us what you want from a dementia-inclusive borough
  • Talk to Richmond Community Dementia Service and dementia advisors from Alzheimer's Society
  • Get advice on navigating financial and legal matters from Pathways through Dementia, and from Metropolitan Police on staying safe from fraud

Health bus tour

During Dementia Action Week, our health bus will be touring the borough, with friendly advisors and a local pharmacist offering practical advice and one-to-one support to help you improve your overall health and reduce your risk or delay onset of dementia and other health concerns. Come and have a chat to our friendly professionals about:

  • Thursday 21 May: 11am to 3pm at the ETNA Community Centre, 12 Rosslyn Rd, Twickenham
