The annual Full of Life Fair – Richmond upon Thames’ flagship event for celebrating older residents and carers – returns on 24 October at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.
Hosted by Richmond Council, the free all-day fair brings together more than 70 local organisations, services and community groups to help residents live longer, healthier and happier lives.
More than 700 residents are expected to attend this year’s event, making it one of the largest community gatherings in the borough’s calendar.
Attendees can:
- Get moving – with taster sessions in yoga, gentle exercise, dance and more
- Stay connected – with one-to-one support on using technology and avoiding scams
- Live healthy – with advice from local professionals, blood pressure checks and seasonal vaccinations
- Find community – by connecting with local clubs, charities and volunteering opportunities
The event also offers free refreshments at an all-day café.
Councillor Piers Allen, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health and Chair of the Richmond Health and Wellbeing Board, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming residents to the Full of Life Fair – it’s a celebration of our older community and carers, who make such an immeasurable contribution to our borough. This year’s event is bigger than ever, offering everything from practical advice and health checks to fun activities and opportunities to meet new people.
“If you have a friend, neighbour or carer who would benefit from this event, please do share this information with them and encourage them to come along,” Councillor Allen added. “It’s also a great opportunity to hear more about volunteering activities in the borough with so many of our vibrant voluntary and community sector partners in such high attendance”.
Alongside the fair, Richmond Council is also funding a borough-wide programme of community events throughout October – from open allotment days to dance sessions and coffee mornings – ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Residents, carers and friends are encouraged to attend, connect and celebrate. You can find out more information and register.
