Richmond Voluntary Fund raises over £30k for children and families in just six weeks

19 October 2026

Richmond residents have once again shown their strong community spirit, donating more than £30,000 to the Richmond Voluntary Fund (RVF) in just six weeks.

Donations will support local charities helping young children develop confidence, communication skills and wellbeing. With the appeal still open, there is time to get involved and help make an even greater difference.

RVF’s Trustees would like to thank everyone who has supported this year’s appeal, which has reached more than 13,000 households across the borough. More than £30,000 has already been raised, and every pound will have a lasting impact in our community.

Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of the Council and Trustee of the Richmond Voluntary Fund, said:

“We are grateful for the generosity of Richmond residents. Every donation, large or small, will be directed to three outstanding local charities that bring generations together, stand alongside families when they need support, and give children with disabilities the chance to thrive through music.

“We have already raised more than £30,000, but there is still time to build on this strong start. Please join us in helping these charities continue their life-changing work across our borough.”

About the Richmond Voluntary Fund

The Richmond Voluntary Fund (Registered Charity No. 1186870) gives residents the opportunity to support local voluntary and community organisations delivering vital services across the borough.

This year, the fund is supporting three local charities whose work brings people together and helps children and families thrive. Donations will enable nursery children to form rewarding connections with older adults, give families personalised one-to-one support when they need it most, and provide music therapy for children with disabilities.

The chosen charities are Brighter Together, Home-Start Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow, and The Otakar Kraus Music Trust. Every pound donated will go directly to one of these charities, helping them continue their vital work. Find out more about the chosen charities.

Over the lifetime of the Fund, more than 26,000 children and young people have been supported. Find out more about the Richmond upon Thames Voluntary Fund.
