Saddle up, Santa! Richmond’s ultimate feel-good festive ride is back

Community news on behalf of Njinga Cycling | 7 October 2026

For the past 13 years, hundreds of cycling Santas have wrapped up warm, hopped on their bikes, and pedalled 15.5 km - bringing some early Christmas spirit to the winter streets, and gifts to Shooting Star Children's Hospice.

Njinga Cycling has already delivered nearly 8,000 presents and raised over £60,000 for this amazing charity.

This year, they want you to be part of the magic on Saturday 5 December. It's not just a charity ride - it's a big, festive social on wheels, and they'd love for you to join in.

The ride is free to enter, all they ask is that you bring an unwrapped gift for the children and rock a smashing Santa suit.

Families are welcome. Children aged 12 and over can ride alongside an adult, with fantastic reindeer ride captains and motorbike outriders keeping everyone safe along the route.

The grand finish is at the Turks Head pub where you can warm up with free food and hot drinks, before continuing a free after-party with a DJ, fun festive games and a fundraising raffle with brilliant prizes up for grabs.

Prizes are on offer for best outfit and best decorated bike.

You can find out more and register your place.
