Draw Off litter pick and heritage walks
Community news on behalf of Habitats & Heritage | 30 October 2025
Habitats & Heritage invites the local community to join a fun and educational foreshore litter pick along the Thames on Saturday 8 November.
Drop in any time between 10.30am and 1pm at the river end of Whittaker Avenue, near the Richmond War Memorial.
The Draw Off litter pick is a family-friendly event featuring a mix of hands-on activities and guided walks. Participants can take part in heritage walks to learn about the history of the Thames and its vital role in London’s water system, as well as guided litter-picking walks around the streets of Richmond.
Prefer to explore at your own pace? Borrow a litter picker and enjoy the towpath independently. Any under-18s attending must be accompanied by an adult.
Schedule for guided walks:
- Heritage walks take place from 10.45am and 11.45am
- Litter-picking walks take place from 10.50am, 11.15am, 11.40am, 12.05pm and 12.30pm
No booking is required - just turn up on the day appropriately dressed for the mess, as Thames mud has a reputation for leaving its mark...
