Join our Black History Month celebrations at York House

10 October 2023

Come along to our Black History Month celebrations, taking place on Tuesday 24 October from 6 to 8.30pm at York House, Twickenham, TW1 3AA.

This year’s Black History Month theme "Saluting our Sisters", highlights the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities.

Black History Month will also acknowledge the lives and stories of black Britons who were living in the UK before the arrival of Empire Windrush 1948.

The event will commemorate Black History Month with an exciting panel of medical professionals who will deliver talks on the theme.

Free refreshments including traditional African and Caribbean dishes, teas and coffees will be available.

There will also be a variety of health and wellbeing stalls, where guests can find information and seek advice on services in the borough.

The stalls include The Mulberry Centre, Healthwatch Richmond, Sickle Cell Society, and more.

We will also have special musical performances from the Richmond Music Trust and a Gambian Drumming group.

The event is free to attend, and guests can register online.
