Richmond leisure centre upgrades begin
6 November 2025
Richmond residents will soon be able to book classes more easily and manage memberships online, thanks to a new partnership with Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL).
From 1 December, residents will be able to book classes and activities with Better - bringing bookings, payments and memberships together in one place. Pay-as-you-go and phone memberships will still be available with Better.
This follows the new 10-year partnership that began last month, with Pools on the Park and Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre now managed by GLL. This will introduce improvements to facilities and programmes, helping residents access fitness and leisure activities more conveniently.
What residents can expect:
- More choice: Access a wider range of classes and activities with updated timetables
- Better information: Programme details and schedules will be clearer and easier to view online
- Support from staff: Teams will continue to provide help both online and at the centres
- Centralised bookings: Bookings, payments, and memberships will now be handled through a single system
The Council and GLL are committed to maintaining the welcoming leisure centres that residents know, while introducing improvements to make visits easier and more convenient.
The following centres will continue to be managed directly by the Council:
- Hampton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Shene Sports and Fitness Centre
- Teddington Sports Centre
- Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Active Hampton
