Help us understand dementia awareness in Richmond
24 November 2025
We’re inviting residents to take part in the Dementia Awareness Measure (DAM 2025) survey, to share their knowledge of dementia signs, risks factors, and knowledge of reducing risk in Richmond.
Councillor Piers Allen, Chair of the Adult Social Services, Health and Housing Committee and Richmond’s Health and Wellbeing Board, said:
“With a continued rising number of residents living with dementia, support for those living with and caring for those with dementia is crucial. For everyone in the borough to be aware of dementia and how it impacts our community is just the start of ensuring we are all dementia friendly.”
Councillor Clare Vollum, Deputy Mayor and Dementia Champion said:
“We’ve got a great dementia friendly community in Richmond already with over 170 local organisations, businesses and centres signed up as a Dementia Friendly space. Now, we want to hear directly from residents about their awareness of dementia.”
The survey asks questions about risk factors as well as questions on hearing loss, risk reduction, signs and symptoms, and questions about those responding to the survey such as demographic.
The DAM 2025 will help the Council and health partners and contribute to information around public levels of knowledge and awareness of dementia.
The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and is open until 15 December 2025.
