Local group 'The 3rd Act' hits the high notes with sell-out showcase

'The 3rd Act', Richmond’s new drama group from the U3A charity, proved that talent has no age limit this week, performing a sell-out performance of original work to an enthusiastic local audience at ETNA Community Centre.
The evening featured three distinct sketches, all devised and written by the group’s members. From the nostalgic 1990s comedy 'Dated Love is our business' to the gritty drama 'Trouble on the Ward', the performance showcased a diverse range of storytelling. The evening concluded with the high-energy comedy 'The Amalfi Catastrophe', leaving the audience cheering for amore!
"It takes a lot of heart to put yourself out there," commented The 3rd Act member Sue Luminati. "For many of our members, this was their first time on stage. Seeing the community come out in such force to support us was the best reward we could ask for!"
Following the success of the showcase, the group is now inviting new members to join them in their exciting journey. They are looking for U3A members who are interested in theatre.
The group is particularly keen to engage with those who have live theatre and stage management skills, as well as those with sound and lighting experience. But whatever your experience, enthusiasm and willingness are welcome in all forms.
Come and be part of the journey. There's no pressure, just a lot of teamwork and a fair bit of laughing.
