Richmond continues to provide quality residential care accommodation for residents

24 March 2026

Caring for the ageing population in Richmond upon Thames is a key priority for us with a new contract awarded to continue to provide integrated care to residents with complex needs and future-proof resident care accommodation.

After a thorough tender process, we have contracted Agincare Homes Holdings Ltd to manage the care services and facilities management for our three care homes; Whitefarm Lodge, Greville House, and Laurel Dene. Care services for residents at these homes include residential and nursing care and supporting residents living with dementia.

Councillor Piers Allen, Chair of the Adult Social Services, Health and Housing Services Committee and Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board said:

“We are proud of the quality care and facilities that we provide for some of our most vulnerable residents in the borough. Our residential care homes provide 24-hour care, enabling quality all-round care to our residents with some of the most complex needs.

“We’re committed to future-proofing the quality services and management of buildings for our ageing population.

“Thank you to Care UK for their valued partnership and consistent and reliable care for Richmond residents over the last 25 years. We look forward to the transition to working in partnership with Agincare to deliver these services into the future with us and continue to improve the quality of care for our residents and support them to live longer, healthier and happier lives.”

Agincare is a family-owned care provider with over 40 years of experience and a track record of delivering high quality care and support services nationwide.

Agincare will work in partnership with us and Care UK to support current residents in the homes and the staff with a smooth transition of management.

The new contract with Agincare concludes the current 25-year PFI contract with Care UK. Care UK has a long-standing relationship with us which will continue as Care UK support residents in their other care homes in other parts of South West London.

Agincare will take over management of the care services and our owned buildings from 1 July 2026.
