Cambrian Community Centre to become bigger, brighter and more accessible

Community news on behalf of Cambrian Community Centre | 30 March 2026

Following the huge success of its renovated kitchen, Richmond's Cambrian Community Centre (CCC) is to embark on an ambitious refurbishment that will transform its layout and facilities to benefit centre users and expand our services for the community.

The project will provide more inside space and better access to the outside area. The interior will be refreshed and modernised to enhance the accessibility and attractiveness of our thriving neighbourhood hub for leisure, fitness and cultural activities.

"I am thrilled to confirm that the Cambrian Community Centre has received the go ahead and funding to expand and develop our popular Centre. We thank the Richmond Foundation for their involvement and support" said Sue Pendle, Chair of Trustees of the CCC.

"With this welcome partnership project and funding from Richmond Foundation we will be able to meet more effectively the needs of our neighbours in this part of the borough, especially those who may be vulnerable or disadvantaged in various ways," Sue Pendle said.

The centre is proud to celebrate the success of securing a substantial sum for this much needed major refit. Funds are scarce in these challenging times when all charities are feeling the pinch.

Building work will begin later this year with an expected duration of about five months, with regular contact being upheld with centre users and supporters offering progress reports to keep everyone informed.

Once the work is finished, the CCC team look forward to relaunching a renovated centre that will offer more space, full accessibility and a wider range of activities. Everyone at the centre is making every effort to minimise any interruption of activities.
