White Ribbon Walk speaks out on violence against women and girls

21 July 2025

On Saturday 12 July residents and officials from Richmond and Kingston came together for our latest White Ribbon Walk. The walks gather leads and community members together to show solidarity and encourage residents to take a stand against violence against women and girls.

The walk was led by the Mayors of Richmond and Kingston, alongside Councillors from both boroughs, including White Ribbon Champion Cllr Katie Mansfield. Supporters also included local MPs for Twickenham and Kingston, Munira Wilson MP and Ed Davey MP.

The event featured powerful speeches highlighting local and national issues. Munira Wilson MP and Ed Davey MP voiced their appreciation for the work of the local councils and community organisations to prevent and respond to abuse.

Participants were deeply moved by contributions from women at Voices of Hope’s Women’s Hub, representing both Kingston and Richmond, who shared their experiences and perspectives.
