Leisure centre improvements at Pools on the Park

Works funded by Richmond Council to create a new multi-purpose studio and refurbished toilets in the café area will be starting in the coming weeks. 

These works are part of a wider investment in the centre. Proposed improvements include:

• Refurbishment of the gym area and changing rooms
• Improvements to swimming pool area
• Sauna and steam provision 

These works support our wider ambitions through our Leisure Strategy, Richmond Moves for a Healthier Borough, which sets out a plan to help more people lead active, healthy lives in spaces that bring communities together. 

What's changing now?

This first investment will help create more flexible and welcoming spaces for all of the community to enjoy and consist of:

• A new multi-purpose studio to encourage greater activity for all
• Refurbished café toilets for a better customer experience and improved accessibility 

These improvements will support the centre’s wider offer and make your visit to Pools on the Park even better. 

Schedule of works

Multi-purpose studio - works start: Monday 26 January 

Café toilet refurbishment - works start: Monday 9 February 

The café will remain open, but toilet access may be temporarily adjusted. 

All works are planned to be completed before the end of March. We will keep you updated on this page of any changes to these dates. 

Keeping you moving

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption while these improvements are underway. There may be some noise or temporary access changes, and any alternative routes or facilities in centre will be clearly signposted. 

The team will be on hand at the centre if you need any help while the project is in progress.
