Be first in line to borrow from the new Library of Things

25 January 2024

From the beginning of February, residents can borrow over 30 useful DIY, gardening, cleaning, repair and home improvement items from the new branch in Patch Twickenham, rather than buying new.

Did you know the average drill is only used for three minutes a year? We all have things cluttering up our cupboards that we don’t need and only use every so often, when we could be sharing instead.

That’s why we’re partnering with Library of Things and Twickenham co-working space Patch to offer affordable borrowing access to useful items. This will help residents save money and avoid wasteful one-time purchases.

Library of Things work like libraries but instead of books they’re filled with over 30 rentable items, from things like carpet cleaners, drills and hedge trimmers, to sewing machines, projectors and waffle irons.

Locals can start reserving items on the Library of Things website from this Friday 2 February, and all items will be available to start collecting from Tuesday 6 February. You can rent most things for under £10 and booking and collection is easy. All items are housed in self-service lockers in Patch’s ground floor.

Sign up to the Library of Things mailing list before this Friday 2 February to be first in line to borrow and receive a 10% discount on your first borrow.
