Volunteer with Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal at Richmond station
Community news on behalf of Marie Curie | 23 February 2026
Marie Curie is inviting local residents to join their Great Daffodil Appeal collection at Richmond train station on Thursday 19 March, as the charity marks the 40th year of its much loved spring campaign.
Volunteering is very simple - just two hours handing out daffodil pins in exchange for donations. Every pin helps raise vital funds so Marie Curie nurses can continue providing expert end of life care for people in the local community, as well as support through the charity’s free national Support Line.
Sophy Alexander, Community Fundraiser for Surrey, said: “By giving just a couple of hours at Richmond station, you’ll be helping Marie Curie support more people living with a terminal illness. Marie Curie volunteers are fully supported - and the big yellow hat is included!”
Residents can also get involved by 'Going Yellow' this March - whether that’s wearing something yellow, hosting a small bake sale, or running a fun yellow themed activity to raise funds.
To volunteer at Richmond train station on 19 March, or to find other ways to support the Great Daffodil Appeal, visit Marie Curie's website or contact Sophy Alexander at sophy.alexander@mariecurie.org.uk or 07591 389 046.
