Join Shepherd Star's Explore programme
Community news on behalf of Shepherd's Star | 9 February 2026
Launched in February 2022, Explore was created for those who are often the hardest to reach, offering a welcoming first step on the journey of personal growth.
It is designed to introduce learners to practical skills and a network or partners to successfully establish themselves in their community.
The programme runs three times a year, with weekly sessions over six weeks. Each term combines skills taster sessions, wellbeing activities, and personal development workshops. Many participants face challenges such as social anxiety, low confidence, or barriers to education and employment, so Explore is uniquely designed with this in mind.
Registrations are open now for Explore's spring term (25 February to 1 April 2026). Sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm at the United Reformed Church, First Cross Road, Twickenham Green, TW2 5QA.
“Explore got me out of my room, got me meeting people, and helped me realise I had skills I never knew I had.”
To date, 82% of Explore participants have progressed onto further volunteering, study, apprenticeship, and work opportunities.
If you are looking to learn new skills, boost your confidence, improve your wellbeing or reconnect with your community, Explore can help you take the next step. Apply today for the upcoming term.
