Small Business Saturday returns this Saturday 7 December and provides an important opportunity to champion our independent businesses, visit your local high street and shop local ahead of the holidays.

Taking place on the first Saturday in December each year, Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign that highlights small business success.

Our small businesses make up the core of our community and help to create vibrant, unified neighbourhoods. Shopping locally isn’t just convenient - our independents offer one-of-a-kind goods and a customer experience you won’t find online or in larger chain stores, and much of what you’ll pick up is sourced and crafted locally. It’s also a great way to invest in the local economy and jobs market.

This gifting season, save on travel and delivery costs and give some extra support to our fantastic independent businesses when they need it most. Browse the vast selection available in each of our town centres and find the hidden gems in your area on the Shop Local website.

Cast your vote in our Christmas windows competition

While you’re out enjoying our local shops and town centres this season, cast your vote for your favourite festive window display.

Over 80 local businesses have entered VisitRichmond’s Christmas windows competition. Voting is simple - keep an eye out for the QR codes visible in shop windows and cast a vote for your favourite, or head to VisitRichmond’s online voting form.

The competition is open until Friday 20 December at 5pm, and the 2024 winner will be announced by the Mayor on Saturday 21 December.
