Richmond upon Thames ranked as "happiest place to live"

In a momentous achievement for the borough, Richmond upon Thames has been named the "happiest place to live" in Great Britain, according to the latest "Happy at Home" index by Rightmove.

With the borough being home to iconic parklands, including Richmond Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens which comprise of nearly half of the area, residents cited a strong sense of belonging, comfort in being themselves, and unparalleled access to nature and green spaces as the key factors contributing to their high happiness scores.

The borough's historical significance, a slew of independent businesses and excellent schools make it one of London’s most sought-after locations and we have been working to ensuring that all residents are able to benefit from everything the borough has to offer. For the past nine years, the borough has ranked top of the capital’s borough on the list.
