Feel appreciated by doing something worthwhile in Kew
Community news on behalf of Kew Neighbourhood Association | 19 August 2026
Would you like to feel appreciated by doing something worthwhile in your local community? That's how Kew Neighbourhood Association Office Volunteer, David feels about his three hour volunteer role, once a fortnight.
KNA currently has vacancies for a three hour per fortnight Office Volunteer Role - 9.30am - 12.30pm. Option to work in their small office or from home. Are you good on the phone? Able to learn an online database system? Enjoy being part of a small team? Kew Neighbourhood Association needs you as part of the team.
KNA’s Office Volunteers are the link between KNA’s 40+ Driving Volunteers and 200+ beneficiaries in Kew – who are often older and with limited mobility. Their beneficiaries phone the KNA Office requesting to go to medical appointments and to get The Avenue Club. The role of the Office Volunteers is to link Volunteer Drivers with people in Kew who need transport.
One of the most rewarding aspects of David’s volunteering is knowing that practical help can make a real difference. He understands that a lift to hospital is about far more than transport alone. For many people, it offers reassurance and the comfort of knowing someone is there to help.
The sense of community within KNA is an important part of David’s experience. He describes the organisation as friendly and supportive, and values the opportunities for volunteers to meet, exchange ideas and enjoy time together. Christmas gatherings and everyday conversations in the office are all part of what makes the role so enjoyable for him.
His message to anyone considering volunteering is clear: it is worthwhile, appreciated and a wonderful organisation to be part of.
"It’s an opportunity to use my office skills whilst helping the local community. It's lovely to speak with our clients." - KNA office volunteer.
