Elleray Community Association seeking new Chair

Elleray Community Association (ECA) is looking for a new Chair to lead the local charity.

The ideal candidate will have experience either as a trustee or in running committees, managing services, or overseeing aspects of a business. In addition to acting as a spokesperson and figurehead for the charity, the new Chair will play a key role in providing the committee of trustees with the strategic leadership necessary to ensure that ECA achieves its mission. The ability to engage with stakeholders and collaborate effectively with staff and volunteers, as well as with other charities, institutions and the local authority is vital.

ECA’s current Chair, Joan Barnett, BEM, will be retiring soon, following the charity’s move into its new centre in October. This marks an exciting time for the charity, as its immediate mission is to expand the range of services offered to members of The Elleray Social Club and introduce new classes, courses and activities that appeal to a broad cross-section of the local community.

Although the charity’s focus will remain on enhancing the lives of older and vulnerable local residents, ECA is committed to ensuring that the new centre becomes a thriving community asset, one that brings value to all residents.

Elleray Community Association is the charity that manages the new Elleray Centre located on North Lane in Teddington. The centre will become the new home of The Elleray Social Club, which provides activities, entertainment, outings and healthy home-cooked lunches to help older members of local community stay fit, healthy and entertained.
