Edward Bond's BINGO coming to the Mary Wallace Theatre
Community news on behalf of Richmond Shakespeare Society | 2 September 2025
At the Mary Wallace, the Richmond Shakespeare Society are accustomed to performing adaptations of Shakespeare's plays, but from September 13 they're offering you the man himself - imagined by acclaimed playwright Edward Bond.
In 1615 a disillusioned William Shakespeare returns to Stratford seeking peace and security, only to find that family and social problems await him there. Life in London was harsh and brutal but in Stratford, confronted by the inhuman oppression of the poor, he finds no solace but only inequality and injustice. A glimpse of Shakespeare's life you wont find in the history books!
BINGO: Scenes of Money and Death plays from September 13 to 20. You can book your tickets now.
The Mary Wallace Theatre is situated on Twickenham's Embankment, close to the Barmy Arms.
