NHS services over the Easter bank holiday
2 April 2026
With the Easter bank holiday approaching, find out about NHS services available if you need medical care over the holiday period.
While some GP practices and pharmacies may have different opening hours on bank holidays, there are a range of services available to ensure residents can get the right care at the right time.
Getting urgent medical help
If you need urgent medical advice but it’s not a life threatening emergency, you can visit 111.nhs.uk or call NHS 111. Trained advisers can assess your symptoms and direct you to the most appropriate local service, including out of hours GP services, pharmacies or urgent treatment centres.
In a medical emergency, always call 999.
Pharmacy opening hours
Some local pharmacies will be open over the Easter bank holiday, although opening hours may vary. Search ‘find a pharmacy NHS’ online to find an open pharmacy near you.
The following local pharmacies have confirmed opening times:
K C Pharmacy, 23 Broad Street, Teddington, TW11 8QZ:
- Good Friday: midday to 4pm
- Easter Sunday: 10am to 6pm
- Easter Monday: midday to 4pm
Pyramid Pharmacy, 19-21 Station Parade, Kew, TW9 3PS:

Pharmacists can provide advice on a range of minor illnesses and health concerns and may be the quickest way to get help without needing an appointment.
Plan ahead for repeat prescriptions
We encourage residents to plan ahead and make sure they have enough medication to last through the bank holiday. Repeat prescriptions can be ordered using the NHS App or through your GP practice, which may also offer online services.
Mental health support
If you or someone you know needs urgent mental health support over the bank holiday, help is available 24 hours a day.
Call South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust’s 24/7 crisis line on 0800 028 8000.
Urgent dental care
If you need urgent dental treatment over the Easter bank holiday, contact your regular dentist in the first instance. If you’re unable to reach them, visit 111.nhs.uk for information about your local out of hours dental service.
