Full of Life Fair back this October

31 August 2023

The annual Full of Life Fair for older residents and carers is back at Twickenham Stadium on Friday 13 October from 10am to 4pm. The fair celebrates active, healthy lifestyles and allows people to connect with local services and activities.

The all-day, free event will showcase more than 60 local stallholders representing health, care and public services, community and voluntary organisations, and national charities and local businesses, as well as a full schedule of fun activity taster sessions to support physical and mental health, and an all-day café with free refreshments.

Cllr Piers Allen, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health and Chair of the Richmond Health and Wellbeing Board, said:

“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming our residents back to Twickenham Stadium for another year of celebrations, fun activities and up-to-date, useful information and advice about the vast resources in Richmond upon Thames that exist to support them.

“Our older residents and carers make immeasurable contributions to our borough, and this is our opportunity to provide them with everything they need locally to them to help them live physically active, healthy, happy and independent lives.

“The Fair is additionally a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people, build local support networks and meet new friends. We want to make sure that any residents who are physically or emotionally isolated get the opportunity to fully benefit from what Full of Life has to offer. I’d also like to ask for your help – if you have a friend, neighbour or carer who would benefit from this event, or any of our Full of Life Fund community events, please do share this information with them.

We very much hope to see you there for another fantastic day!”

Visitors will have the chance to:

  • Try out community activities like mini gardening, table tennis, yoga, gentle mind-body and strengthening exercise routines, dance demos and helpful wellbeing workshops
  • Access one-to-one support for how to use everyday technology to live more independently, and learn about how to avoid cyber scams
  • Access health and social care advice from local professionals, as well as clinical services like blood pressure checks, diabetes risk assessments, advice from community pharmacists and COVID-19 and flu jabs if eligible
  • Learn how to get involved in local community and activity groups.

There is a limited first-come, first-served free lunch which visitors must pre-register for.

Residents and carers unable to attend the main fair - or looking to benefit from further activities - can also get involved in over 40 free community events throughout the entire month of October. We have supported local groups and organisations to host their own activities across the borough

Registration to attend is now open. Find out more by visiting the Full of Life page.
