Full of Life Fund events
Alongside the main Full of Life Fair, we’re supporting local organisations and groups to host their own events during October through the Full of Life Fund.
This year’s fund programme offers lots of exciting events and activities across our communities to connect our older residents and carers with even more opportunities to live healthy, happy lives.
The free events are taking place across October. Some events are limited capacity, and registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Friday 2 October

Golden Active
Enjoy accessible activities such as walking tennis, seated aerobics, boccia and new age kurling, designed for all ages and abilities. Stay active, meet new people, boost your wellbeing, and enjoy refreshments and a light snack after each session in a friendly and supportive environment.

Wellbeing Workshop
Take time for yourself with this dedicated wellbeing workshop for unpaid carers and their loved ones. Held on a Saturday to make attendance easier, the session will offer practical techniques to support mental wellbeing, reduce stress and promote relaxation. Participants will enjoy breathing exercises, chair yoga, mindfulness activities and a calming sound bath, while taking away a wellbeing handbook packed with tips and techniques to use at home.

Walking Down Memory Lane at Marble Hill
Step back in time at Marble Hill and share memories inspired by Richmond’s heritage. Through historical photographs, objects, gentle conversation, a guided walk around the grounds, and a creative postcard activity, participants can reflect on personal connections to place before enjoying tea, coffee and cake in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Allotment open day - Growing community together
Discover a welcoming community allotment and enjoy a morning of gardening inspiration, healthy living advice, and social connection. Meet residents, learn about growing your own produce, and find out how getting involved can support your physical and mental wellbeing in a friendly outdoor setting.

Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold is a low impact, Latin-inspired dance fitness for older adults. The sessions are designed especially for adults aged 55+. Led by a qualified and experienced instructor, these low-impact classes use easy-to-follow dance routines to improve balance, coordination, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness, all in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Join us for a compassionate cuppa at Whitton Community Centre. This welcoming event offers local people a safe space to share experiences of loss, build supportive connections, and find comfort in the company of others who understand. Whitton Neuro Hub - drop in sessions
Drop in throughout October to connect with specialists and local people for information, support and understanding around neurological conditions. Each week includes time to share experiences and take part in short sessions covering support networks, nutrition, physical activity and mental wellbeing.

Memories and Melodies Event at Eel Pie Island Museum (Dementia Friendly)
This dementia-friendly community event at the Eel Pie Island Museum in Twickenham will bring together people living with dementia and their caregivers for an afternoon of music, reminiscence, and social connection. Attendees will enjoy a personalised playlist of favourite songs from their youth, helping to spark memories and conversation, while exploring the museum’s exhibits in a welcoming and supportive environment. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided, creating opportunities to relax, share experiences, and connect with others through the power of music.

No Barriers Here workshop
Come and join us for a free No Barriers Here workshop at the ETNA Centre. Princess Alice Hospice and Richmond Mencap are running a friendly and relaxed session for adults with disabilities and learning disabilities. No Barriers Here is an innovative, arts-based approach to advance care planning that was co-produced with people with learning disabilities.
Together, we will use art, creativity and conversation to explore 'What Matters to Me'. This is a chance to think about the people, places and things that are important to you, and what you want people to know if became seriously ill. The session is relaxed, accessible and designed for adults with disabilities and learning disabilities. Join us for a welcoming morning of creativity, connection and conversation.

Art & Soul will deliver a creative arts workshop for residents experiencing mental wellbeing challenges. Led by a trained arts therapist, the session will provide a supportive space for participants to explore creativity, express themselves through art and connect with others. Funding will support venue hire, materials, facilitation and promotion of the workshop.
