Electoral registration canvassers will visit households where there has been no response to the Household Enquiry Form. Canvassers visit households across the borough to deliver voter registration forms and help residents with completing the forms if required. Our canvas staff may have paper forms with them or they may be using a tablet (a small hand held computer) and will ask you for the details so they can update the records.
These personal visits will take place during September 2018. If the canvasser calls at your address when you are not home, they will leave a calling card.
Visits will be made at a time when you are mostly likely to be at home such as during the evenings and at weekends.
If you are not at home, a calling card will be left explaining how you can register or provide the required information.
If you still have the Household Enquiry Form, please respond to it straightaway, preferably by using one of the online, telephone or text services listed on the form. Once a response has been recorded, the canvasser will not need to call at your address again
If you do not have the Household Enquiry Form, the canvasser will call at your address again. If you are not home when they call again, they will post the form through your letterbox. If you do not receive a reminder form please contact the Electoral Services Office.
If you have been sent a letter inviting you to register, you can register your details online at GOV.UK.
You must also respond to the household enquiry form, as this is a legal requirement.
If you have any questions about annual Voter registration, you may find the answer on our frequently asked questions page.
