Prior notification planning applications

In 2013 amendments were made to The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order, introducing a prior approval process for larger single storey rear extensions and for certain change of uses.

Guidance

The following guidance notes have been produced to provide advice on the most frequently submitted prior approval applications, and to assist in preparing such notification applications.

• Class A - single-storey rear extensions
• Class O - Change of use from offices to dwelling house
• Class T-  Change of use from various uses to state funded school or registered nursery
• Class C and D – Temporary changes of use
