Christmas Day Dinner in Richmond are kindly asking for gift donations to fill stockings for young adults from across the borough who have recently left the care system.
Presents for the guests can be dropped off at Positive, Willoughby House, 439 Richmond Road, TW1 2AG. Alternatively check their Amazon wishlist or shop directly on TwickTraders website and let their Christmas elves do all the hard work for you!
You can also drop off your unwanted, or half-used rolls of wrapping paper as well as bows, and ribbon to the Eel Pie Pub on Church Street in Twickenham for wrapping gifts.
There are plenty of ways you can get involved and make this Christmas a special one to remember.

The Richmond Box Project is a local not for profit partnership that provides free sanitary products to young women in the Richmond upon Thames area.
The group are hoping to supply free sanitary products into a local college, youth groups and care leavers event.
You can also drop off sanitary products to the red box at the Civic Centre in Twickenham or visit their Richmond Box Project wishlist on Amazon.

Chestertons are collecting unwanted winter coats and parkas for both adults and children as part of the Calling London Winter Coat Collection 2019.
The charity are then distributing the coats to the homeless and families that are struggling financially. Drop off your coats to your local branch.

The iconic, ancient Royal Oak tree in Richmond Park is the subject of a stunning new artwork by acclaimed artist Mark Frith, commissioned by the Friends of Richmond Park (FRP) as emblem for their conservation campaign, Year of the Tree.
Limited edition prints of the artwork are available, with net proceeds going towards funding tree conservation projects in Richmond Park.

The volunteers behind Christmas Day Dinner Richmond are raising money by holding a 24-hour spinathon at Anytime Fitness in Twickenham.
The classes take place from 8am on 14 December to 8am on 15 December 2019. Each class runs for 30 minutes and costs £5 and a roll of wrapping paper. To book, call 020 8432 2024.

Linden Hall have launched a campaign to raise £8000 to provide the local elderly community that use their facilities with new chairs. So far over £1000 has been raised but they need your help to raise additional funds.
Linden Hall offer community services especially to older, younger and disabled residents of Hampton and the surrounding area.

Preliminary repair works on Hammersmith Bridge will commence in the next few weeks, Hammersmith and Fulham Council and Transport for London have confirmed.
Whilst the full restoration project is still in the planning phase, the Bridge’s decorative cast iron housings need to be partially dismantled to provide access for thorough investigation of the bridge’s structure and for surface preparation.
Set-up for this dismantling and preparation phase will start on Monday 25 November 2019, with works scheduled to start in the next few weeks and run until June 2020.

Tickets are now on sale to the Home-Start fundraising Carol Service at St Mary's Church in Barnes on Wednesday 4 December 2019.
The evening will feature an exclusive performance by the choir from St Osmund’s Primary School as well as musical contributions from Barnes residents. Tickets are £20 each and include festive refreshments. All money raised will go towards supporting local children and families experiencing difficulties in the London Boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow.

Royal Star & Garter provides loving, compassionate care for veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia. You can view the Christmas card collection online, and all profits from the sale of the cards will be donated to the charity.

In partnership with the Whitton Business Association, we have returned the wall outside Whitton station to its former glory.
Members of the public and local businesses have expressed concern over the graffiti-style coating that has been covering the wall outside of the train station. High Street traders particularly feel that the bridge is an ‘architectural landmark’ and an ‘important anchor at one end of the High Street’.
