Listen to Talk Richmond – a new podcast for Richmond upon Thames

Talk Richmond is a fortnightly podcast that discusses a topic of interest in the borough with help from different guests - bringing you closer to what’s happening in Richmond upon Thames.

The host of the podcast is Cllr Jim Millard who is the borough’s Tenants’ Champion and owns a small local business alongside being an actor and writer. He lives in Teddington with his wife and two children.

The first episode of Talk Richmond dives into how the community and the Council responded to the outbreak of COVID-19. The Leader of Richmond Council, Cllr Gareth Roberts, talks about the unprecedented challenges, including protecting the most vulnerable and continuing to run everyday services such as bin collections. Conversation with Kathryn Williamson, the Director of Richmond Council for Voluntary Services, finds a silver lining in the huge outpouring of community spirit over the past few months, with examples of how local organisations have helped people to cope.

Upcoming Talk Richmond episodes include an interview with the Director of Public Health for Richmond on avoiding a second peak of coronavirus, and a discussion with business leaders in the borough on the importance of shopping locally.
