Have your say on a new football pitch in Hampton Common

Release Date: 30 October 2020

Share your views on a proposed additional football pitch in Hampton Common to support and grow women’s football in the borough.

Share your views on a proposed additional football pitch in Hampton Common to support and grow women’s football in the borough.

The new football pitch would allow additional women’s and girl’s teams to be developed, whilst protecting existing football pitches from overuse. Football clubs would use portable goals to make sure the park continues to be used and enjoyed by everyone all year round.

The football pitches are used on Sunday mornings during the football season from August to April. If the proposal is supported, the pitch would be installed in time for the 2021/22 season.

We would like to hear from as many people as possible about the proposal. Letters have been sent to residents living around the park and your views can be shared online. If you require a paper copy of the online survey, email consultation@richmond.gov.uk.

This consultation closes on 27 November 2020.

Cllr Julia Neden-Watts, Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Committee, said:

“Women’s and girl’s football continues to boom in popularity around the world and it’s great that this is happening locally in the borough too.

“Hampton Common was awarded a Green Flag this year, an award that recognises well managed parks and green spaces. We are committed to continuing to improve the park - so please take the time to express your views on the proposed new football pitch. Thank you.”
