Strawberry Hill House Flower Festival returns for four days this September

Strawberry Hill House & Garden’s spectacular Flower Festival returns from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 September 2026, transforming Horace Walpole’s extraordinary gothic villa and gardens with immersive floral installations.

For the first time, the festival will run across four days, bringing together more than 30 leading and emerging floral designers. Every installation will be created using British-grown flowers, seasonal materials and sustainable techniques.

Curated by Flowers at the House and co-curated by Flowers on the Edge, the festival will place cutting-edge contemporary floristry in dialogue with Strawberry Hill’s theatrical architecture and interiors.

Inspired by Walpole’s contrast between the atmospheric 'gloomth' of his gothic house and the cheerful 'riant' quality of its gardens, the displays will celebrate colour, imagination and the beauty of the natural world.

Returning designers include Joanna Game, Layla Robinson, Fiona Pickles, Pearl Watt of Millefleur and Bex Partridge of Botanical Tales.

A new festival marquee will host free talks and live demonstrations throughout the four days, all included with general admission. Speakers include Joanna Game, Fiona Pickles, gardener, florist, author and broadcaster Arthur Parkinson, Pearl Watt, Leigh Chappell and Janne Ford.

Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations of Sogetsu Ikebana, seasonal flower drawing and a panel discussion with guest curators Cissy Bullock and Olivia Wilson. A small retail village will bring together selected artisan makers and flower growers.

Visitors can extend their day with a pre-ordered picnic from Roots & Berries or experience the festival after dark on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September, when the illuminated house will remain open into the evening.

The festival’s expansion to four days and the festival marquee have been made possible thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Strawberry Hill House Flower Festival 2026 runs from 10 to 13 September, 9am to 5pm. Tickets cost £30 for adults, £23 for students and £18 for children under 14. Advance booking is strongly recommended.
