The Phoenix Enterprise business support programme launches for residents and businesses

22 May 2023

Richmond Council has launched its latest Phoenix Enterprise Programme to support and enhance business skills for residents and small businesses in the borough.

This will be the third year of this successful programme and will run until Tuesday 31 October 2023. The free programme is designed to support pre-start, start-up and established businesses.

Cllr Phil Giesler, Lead Member for Business and Growth said:

“Richmond Council is passionate about creating an environment in which entrepreneurs and small businesses can establish themselves and thrive. The Phoenix Enterprise Programme has proven to be a success, supporting many businesses across all industries from retail, hospitality, leisure and more. These businesses will receive access to the tools and support they need to help them grow and contribute to the vitality of our local economy and community.”

The Phoenix Enterprise Programme will include a variety of support, including: Support for Start Ups; Mentoring for Scale Ups, Digital Skills for businesses and Building Business Resilience. There will also be further enhancements to Creative Richmond, the platform that champions creatives across the borough and helps business collaboration.

The programme will be offered through in-person workshops, networking events, business clinics, free 1:1 support and an on-demand library, with high-quality business training on the 24/7 platform, MyGrowthPod. Training will also take place in venues across the borough.

Participants will have the chance to develop their business knowledge, skills and confidence to continue growing their business.

Helen Roberts, Founder & Managing Director of CPG Executive Consulting & delivery partner for this programme, said:

“The resilience of small businesses is astounding. It’s tough at the best of times. It’s especially tough out there right now. First it was Brexit, then the Pandemic, the war on Ukraine and the current cost-of-living crisis and entrepreneurs continue to strive. They inspire us every day. I am thrilled to be rolling out business support across the Richmond borough to work with sole traders, partnerships and small and medium-sized businesses through these challenging times.”

Interested businesses can register online to sign up to the free Phoenix Enterprise Programme.
